A Christmas Wish!
I've tried various means to track down an old old friend of mine, with no success, so I thought I'd experiment with the LJ method. I'm hoping this could be way more powerful than google or any other search engine!
plankman (AKA Mat Ward) is trying to track down Andrew Hartley an old old friend of his. Andrew used to live in Halifax, England and worked with Mat at the Kirkless Council Computer Centre in Huddersfield, England. Andrew was a huge heavy metal fan and introduced Mat to the delights of loud guitar based rock. Unfortunately Mat managed to lose track of Andrew when they both moved home at around the same time.
If you know this person please leave a message for Mat (plankman) with details of how he can track him down.
Please copy this message to your own Live Journal so that your friends can read it and do the same. Thanks and Merry Xmas to you all!
Current Mood: hopeful
It is *too hot* to do anything (well almost anything) never mind update LJ, when it cools it will be a different story...
On the way to Brighton the nearer we got the more it was raining and the odd sound of Thunder was heard, it wasn't until Hove that I actually thought I hope this is not cancelled because as is typical of me I brought no phone numbers with me to ring to find out not that I know Beermat and Mindy's anyway I do however know Orddies but it is not on my mobile. Those of you who know me will not be surprised by that.
The weather did however decide to change and it became a beautiful day in Brighton even managed to walk along the pier again although my son was not too keen to be seen with me and I shall put that down to him being 16.
Wedgies looked the same on our arrival as I remembered it from 2 years ago and when we saw the others there it was as if the last 2 years did not exist it was a nice feeling to be back again. Orddie, Remmie, Meltie and his GF I heard before I saw *grin* Beermat and Mindy and others there that I did not know all having a good time.
Gave Beermat his bottle of voddie and I think he hid it from the others but his face said it all. The Chippie van was there again and after a while managed to get some fish and chips, had to queue with Remmie but I managed to keep him under control, well most of the time.
Handsome and his GF eventually turned up on bikes although these were cycles and not the harleyd *sigh* and you could see the glee in someones eyes when he saw the bouncy castle they didn't light up that much when he heard there was alocohol.
Remmie and myself sat most of the time on a bale of straw I think we got quite attached to it really although by the end the shape had changed a bit. Orddie as usual had some furrie friends with her..no comment.. thank goodness she didn't bring the snakes is all I can say.
There was much fun and merriement all night and I would not have missed it for the world and some things will stick in my mind for a long time, those like Meltie with no hair now or not much to count, Handsome flying over the back wall of the bouncy castle and emerging to the sound of clapping, the bath tub one always remembers that cos that is where the booze is and many other things that I will not bore you with but made me grin.
I had a great weekend and it was definately worth the effort my thanks to Beermat and Mindy for letting me (was going to say come here but I know you lot too well) attend the gathering. Of course there were lots of other peeps there whom I did not know but they certainly helped to make the evening a fun one.
It was sad to leave Brighton once again especially as the weather was sunny and hot at that time even though early on it had been raining. I left happy but a little part(OK maybe a big part) of my heart was sad.
It's ok I found it, need to put things in places I can remember.
I am wondering if it is time to panic yet or not...
Heck have gone and lost my mobile phone charger and I am running out of places to find it, sometimes I am totally useless.
It's going to be a *great* weekend i'm sure...
Tesco gave me a voucher today to save 5p off a litre of petrol, course this is only valid for a few days and guess when I last filled my car up with petrol, *yesterday* and I bet they know this...
For some reason today I had to register with Times on Line and having gone through all the usual usernames I use I was just about to give up and think well don't really need this, when I had an inspiration I would use a name that I have never used before, and because of the history of this name and the fact it has driven me quite insane at times the last thing I expected was to get the message back *name already in use* knickers who on earth would use the name *Impie*.
Guess someone I don't know is tuned into me.
I ended up using a name I did not want to use.
How to tell it is summertime...
It is *not* the weather nor is it the tourists who are always dressed in shorts but the one certainty that summer has arrived is the fact that roadworks start popping up all over the place.
I like it when it starts to get warm and the weather becomes sunny and dry (mind you it's raining today) because you see all the Harleys coming out again, makes me smile. I try very hard not to do the green eyed monster thing but when I see a person on the back of a harleyd, I have to fight it (the green eyed monster not the person).
I just have to remind myself that if I turn my computer on then I see the best Harley in the world.
I don't think my stairs like me much...
